Schweppe-Mechanik produced scooters from 1949 to 1954 in Dortmund. One notable model was the 1949 Schweppe Pirol, which was equipped with a 143cc ILO engine with separate 3-speed gearbox. This model also had a unique suspension with a torsion bar suspension, which made it a comfortable and innovative scooter for the time.

In 1951 Schweppe introduced a new model with a 200cc two-stroke engine designed by Küchen - the heaviest European scooter at the time - fitted with a 4-speed Baker and Polling gearbox and also with torsion bar suspension. This combination of technical sophistication and solid construction made the Schweppe scooters quite expensive so production was limited.

Today, these scooters are extremely rare. Only two Schweppe-Mechanic Pirols with the 143cc ILO engine are known worldwide, and only two Pirols with the 200cc engine. This makes them a sought-after treasure for collectors of historic scooters and motorbikes.

Despite their innovative designs and solid construction, Schweppe scooters' production period remained relatively short. Their unique place in the history of scooter development makes them a special piece of heritage.
